Chin-chillin'.

Under the roof of: It's A Grind.
Sippin' on: Hot Pumpkin Latte.
Weather: Overcast, chilly, ...sweater-y.
Tunes: Phil Wickham's album, Cannons.

It's an early start for me, in comparison to the rest of the world; they've probably been awake for about 5 hours already. I've only barely been up for about 3. It's been a rough couple of weeks... Exams, exams, exams. & at the same time, it's been an amazing couple of weeks... Grace, grace, grace, with a huge splash of blessings. The amount of grace I've been receiving is pretty ridiculous. Grace in general just does that to you.

Nothing much to talk about over here; just feels nice to be out of the house-- staying warm, enjoying the alone time, & taking advantage of this reflective-blogging weather. Unfortunately I've been relaxing for much too long now & it's time to get started on the endless list of things-to-do. (Glee airs tonight!)

Oh, I read this verse today. Thought I'd share:
"The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?"
--Psalm 118:6.
Think about it.

AHHHHH

Oh my goodness, God is so amazing!! He's definitely been moving. Things are changing so quickly & from what I can see, they're changing for the good. For God's glory, nahmean? I have been praying for so many things for so long & just recently I feel like ALL of those prayers are being answered all at once! I've just been so overwhelmed with God's goodness & faithfulness that the tears just do not stop, even when I try my hardest to hold them back. The timing is amazing & I'm just SUPER EXCITED to see God work in me & through me & through those whom I love very, very much!

AHHHH ohmygosh, I'm gonna stop here before I start crying again. & trust me, I never cry-- as heartless as that sounds, it's true. I'm just SO HAPPY. Praise God!

Oh blogspot, how quickly I abandon you.

WOW what a crazy month! Or summer or year or whatever. The past couple of weeks have been pretty intense. God is GOOD. He's so tricky, too! (Well, not really because everything has already been planned, but you know.) He really does have the best timing & puts things together so perfectly. I cannot count the number of times I've been surprised & in awe of what God has done. Other times I get so confused because I don't understand why things are happening when I'm not ready, but who am I to say I'm not equipped?! I'm so foolish sometimes.

I was talking to my cousin (not Jainah, haha) & she asked me, "what if it was in God's plan for us to not be married?" Oh man! As girls, that's a tough thing to swallow. & I mean, what IF? That's a possibility. It took me a couple seconds & I concluded with, "well, we gotta be content with just being with God." ...& quickly followed up with, "that's a discipline I gotta work on some more."

Being content with God. AH that doesn't just apply to the question of marriage in the future, but in every aspect of our lives. I was talking to my good friend & I told him, what if it's in God's plan for us to be bankrupt, or to lose our closest friends & family members? Would I remember to be content with having God? When he was telling me of his struggles, he mentioned Job. Job was legit. In the very first chapter, Job lost his family & his property, & yet he dropped to his knees & WORSHIPED. Worshiped!! Blessed be the name of the Lord!

My joy needs to be rooted in my salvation, rooted in Christ-- NOT the things of this world, not things that are fleeting, not things that are perishable. I mean, what's the eternal perspective? To see brothers & sisters in heaven? To see the streets of gold? To sing with the angels? No way! If God wasn't in heaven, I could care less about going! In Revelation, John's total focus was on the throne of God. Actually, everyone's focus was on the throne of God. Ain't that somethin'?

God has blessed me with so many things & so many great people who love me. That isn't to say that being on God's team is an easy walk. If anything, it's harder. Philippians 1:29, "For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.." We're called to suffer. & that suffering doesn't end until Christ comes back to judge & reign. But my dear brothers & sisters, keep running the race!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." --Hebrews 12:1-2.
Looking. To. Jesus. The "God-Man", 100% God yet 100% man, willingly sacrificed Himself, endured the wrath of God & conquered death, so that I may live & be labeled as "righteous" in God's sight, regardless of all the wrong & all the disappointments & all the mistakes. Amazing grace, indeed. How could I NOT be content with all that He is? How could I claim that I want, or even more boldly, NEED something more than that? How could I place ANYONE else higher on my priority list?

Run towards Him. Repent from the sins that you held so dearly & flee from them. How could I go back?

Lord, remind me that You are sufficient for me. May I continue to joyfully serve you & proclaim Your truth in every aspect of my life, whether it be school, finances, or even, if it is in Your will, marriage. The glory is Yours & Yours alone, no matter the outcome.

Random urge to update.

Whew. Just finished baking a few batches of sugar cookies - ordinary & chocolate - & although I'm very proud & excited for tomorrow, I must admit that I'm tired. I should be sleeping. My reasoning for still being awake is simply the fact that this is my time to relax & catch up with emails, updates, etc. Not too convincing of a reason, but I'm still awake, so I guess I gave in.

Eeeks, I keep looking at the clock expecting it to stay the same. My sleeping time is eating itself away & I'm not doing anything about it. It's like continuously looking at your bed expecting the clothes to hang themselves. On hangers. HA, suicidal clothes. Anyways... Yeah, there are clothes on my bed. Man, I'm lazy.

Okay. Let's focus on good things.

I'm glad Labor Day is on Monday. 3-day weekend? 4-day weekend? I don't really count piano class, which happens on Tuesdays & Thursdays, so I pretty much have a 6-day weekend. Yeah, a day of class this upcoming week. Huzzah. Oh wait, online class. Sighsighsigh. My schedule's pretty relaxed though. Thank You, Lord.

I'm glad I'm alive. I've been enjoying the past few weeks/months spending time with the most wonderful people. Especially the past few nights. These kids are nocturnal, I'm telling you. Late night Tokbox sessions are ridiculous.

I like getting to know people. Especially acquaintances. You're kind of in that stage where it's awkward to start a conversation because you wouldn't know what to talk about, but then you both know you have to start a conversation because you two already know each other so what's stopping you? Yep, complicated. But I find myself giving in to the awkward pressure & just asking a bunch of questions. They usually turn out well, & hey, that's how friendships are born, I suppose. It really is nice. I hope the feeling's mutual, otherwise... Yeah. K.

I'm tired.
Sleepy.
Night.
