Monaftenablopomo.

"Month after national blog posting month."

So... Obviously, I failed at that. But what else is new? :)

It just hit 11pm & this would be a lovely time for me to get ready for bed, but I also feel like I should use this time to work on so many other things! December is moving by rather quickly & I can't seem to keep up with anything (or with anyone, apparently). I feel so behind when in reality, I'm on track........ err, with certain things. Well, I don't know, I just want everything to be due & finished.

Time for a list:
  • Group meeting
  • PSY300 paper & presentation
  • ASAM paper
  • HCOM reaction essay
  • 3 chapters of PSY351
  • HCOM final
  • PSY351 final
  • MUS final
  • ASAM final
T-minus 11 days until fall semester ends! I'm so excited (& terrified at the same time?! Maybe). Gotta do my best for God's glory! WOooOooOOo praying for sustenance & productivity o_o

Yikes, I'm sure there are more things I'd like to say but my thoughts are shy tonight, HAHA.

& with that, I think I'll just read my Bible for the rest of the night. Seriously, praise the Lord for the Spirit's work because reading the Word has been so comforting. :) Ummm alright, awkward blog post ending! Off to end this semester!

11.11.2011

Once in a century.

(Well, so is every date but that's besides the point.)

11.11.11! I actually looked at the time & it was 11:11pm, too. Very cool.

Happy Veteran's Day! No school for me/Luke & no work for my pops! Spent the day with the fam, which was nice because those days are actually pretty rare. We usually get in a car together, drive to some place & everyone does their own thing but today we stuck together. Ikea's pretty big, so getting lost would be lame, & it's way more fun to explore Ikea with other people. OH, & we got to eat a meal together. We're typically on different schedules so we never eat meals together unless we eat at a restaurant. Hope my family (well, if it's God's will for me to have my own family...) eats together on a regular basis.

Ahhhh I miss spending time with my WHOLE small group. None of this one-person-missing business. I mean, I still love talking to each one of them but I really enjoy our time together as a group. It's especially nice when I get to see them hold each other accountable using Scripture & AH, it's so cool! Praise the Lord :) So thankful for them. Definitely time for another small group hangout. Don't worry Ica, you're still invited, AHAHA.

It's been really windy lately & my allergies are responding accordingly. :( 'Tis the season to struggle with eczema, take claritin everyday, & use up my chapstick. Still love this weather though! :)

Gonna try to read myself to sleep tonight. Got a nightstand so I no longer need to sleep next to my lamp & books! It's really sketchy waking up with the lamp head in front of your face. So glad it never fell & hit my head/face during the night...

Anyhoos, hope you had a lovely 11.11.11!

11.10.2011

Hm.

"My eyes shed streams of tears,
because people do not keep your law."
--Psalm 119:136 ESV

Am I truly distressed over the sins of others (or myself) or am I just tolerating it?

Food for thought.

It's barely 11pm & I'm falling asleep on my desk. I'd go to bed but someone's taking a shower. I haven't brushed my teeth & I don't have my night guard. Roar. Getting the hang of nablopomo though... I think. Man, I'm really boring.

Figures.

Nablopomo, I've already failed you. It's 12:39am so.. I guess I didn't quite make it.

Anyways, God is so good! All the glory goes to Him.

Back to bullet points:
  • Lots to read. I wish my eyes weren't as tired as they are right now. Maybe tomorrow...
  • I bought an alphabet stamp set from Joann's! I've always wanted an alphabet rolling stamp but that runs up to $20+ & because of the veteran's day sale, this one was only $6! Such a great font too. I just need to practice stamping in a straight line, I guess. Yay :)
  • Speaking of veteran's day-- no school on Friday!
  • Apparently there's a Pacquiao fight this Saturday.
  • I'm already stoked for next semester. All of my classes are psych classes which can be intimidating but I'm excited to practice discernment... Is that weird? I don't know, I'm excited to tackle everything with Scripture, ahaha.
  • Been playing Christmas music this whole month. I hope I don't get sick of it.
  • I can't quite remember my plans for tomorrow.
Oy, this week is going by so quickly. Every day has felt like a Thursday but now it's finally here! So thankful for the 3-day weekend :) Good night, blog readers.

11.08.2011

Nablopomo.

National Blog Posting Month.

Who knew? I'm finally all caught up on Google Reader & apparently it's Nablopomo, which means posting everyday for the whole month! ...Yeah, not happening. Oh well! Maybe I'll start today :)

God is so gracious. It's been a really fun couple of days for me. 'Twas Micah's birthday weekend, then I was greeted with a week of no homework or studying (it gives me a week of brainstorming for Christmas presents!!), then registered for classes which was a breeeeeeze this semester! Basically got all the classes I wanted-- praise the Lord! I'm really just thankful for this week because I know I'll be busy again soon. Time to sprint my way past finals & just get to winter break.

Anyways, IT'S SO COLD. I love it! I love winter & layering & blankets & tea & late night movies & Christmas music & the list goes on! There are so many exclamation points in this post! (What else is new?)

Seems like I'm the only one enjoying the week though-- Micah's been working nonstop & he had a really bad headache yesterday which resulted in me searching the house for meds & thinking of any kind of home remedy to make him feel better... I suck at being a nurse. & I can't even imagine being a mom right now, that's so much harder! -___- & he stayed at TMS for 12+ hours today, partly for class, but mostly to work on a paper. Homie's falling asleep on the phone right now, ahaha. Please keep praying for him! Pray that he does everything for the Lord, with an eternal perspective, & that he relies on His strength. Pride is lame.

Everyone else is studying for quizzes & the next batch of midterms. Man... Gotta remember to use my time wisely. There needs to be an eternal perspective for that too! Maybe I shouldn't be blogging. Whoops. Let me share some excerpts from Valley of Vision before I end this:

Thy blood is the blood of incarnate God,
its worth infinite, its value beyond all thought.
Infinite must be the evil and guilt that demands such a price.
(Valley of Vision, "The Precious Blood")

If ever I am saved it will be by goodness undeserved and astonishing,
not by mercy alone but by abundant mercy,
not by grace but by exceeding riches of grace;
And such thou hast revealed, promised, exemplified
in thoughts of peace, not of evil.
(Valley of Vision, "The Mediator")

It all goes back to the sovereign God.
It's never about what I've done.
AHHHH Lord, You are so good :)

10.15.2011

Half a year, say what?

We look SO happy in this picture.

Lord, You not only graciously gave me salvation but this guy too?
You're the best.

Happy six.

9.28.2011

New month in two days.

I'm just gonna quote my last post: "So I just realized that I've been writing one post a month. What is that?! Hardly an update, that's what it is."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.

Seriously.
So anyways...
  • AHHH praying that God will work in me so I can be a better daughter, sister, girlfriend, Ate, cousin, friend, small group leader, classmate, witness for His glory. I am nowhere near perfect! :( Thankful for the fact that I am no longer a slave to sin. Christ's saving work on the cross is so beautiful! & praise the Lord for the Spirit who guides me in tackling sin 'cause I am more than capable of doing much worse... Oyyyy.
  • The Lord has been gracious to sustain me this semester. Incredible. It's barely week 6, but I'm so tired, I might just fall asleep typing up this post.
  • I guess I still like school. I think it's the routine of it all.
  • Green tea lemonade to my left, this morning's brewed green tea to my right.
  • Been spending a lot of time with godly women & it's awesome! So grateful for sisters in Christ who are naaaaht down to sugarcoat.
  • I've started to watch my spending habits more closely. I'm thrifty, but that all adds up too.
  • SIN. IS. A. BIG. DEAL.
  • I like listening to the WDW sessions & seminars during my drives to school/home/etc. Kinda lame that I can't take notes while I drive. (Well, I can, but that's kind of dangerous.)
  • Excited for colder weather!
  • I gotta get back in contact with certain people...
  • Wow, okay I'm really sleepy.
  • Pride, selfishness, independence, anxiety.
  • Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control.
  • Discernment!
  • Dude. Seriously, Christ is amazing. That whole Triune relationship blows my mind though; the constant provision is overwhelming sometimes. I'm not even close to fully understanding it.
  • "Nothing in my hands I bring,
    Simply to the cross I cling;
    Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace."
  • 1 Corinthians is really interesting. Thankful for my beautiful discipler for being patient & willing to teach me! :)
  • The word "I" appears quite frequently. Note to self: IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU.

Bedtime. See you in October.

8.30.2011

Question.

Have you ever eaten a whole eggplant in one sitting?
I have. Oh, the things I accomplish at 11pm.

(THIS PICTURE CRACKS ME UP. & even more so because Blogger uploaded it UPSIDE DOWN.)

So I just realized that I've been writing one post a month. What is that?! Hardly an update, that's what it is. I just don't blog as often, but I suppose since school's back in session, I'll have more to say & more time to say it! I know that doesn't make much sense because now I'll be busy studying, but I promise I'm more productive when there's structure to my schedule. That's good to realize, not because I know when I'm most productive, but because I'm aware of my terrible self-discipline in seasons of idleness. Sigh. Pros & cons, I guess. REPENTANCE, lehgo.

Oh yeah...

I.
Like.
School.

It's this unusually high level of likeness that rarely correlates with school. Not exactly too much for it to be "love" because I know in a few weeks, I won't like it very much. I like it as of now, though... perhaps a lot more than I should. OH WELL. God has been so gracious! From giving me the opportunity to go to a university to keeping me safe as I drive on the freeway (I'm a total noobie after 3+ years of driving) to getting me the classes I need (& want, too) to everything concerning financial aid (GRANTS ARE INCREDIBLE) and just in every aspect of my life! I was praying this morning out of thanksgiving 'cause seriously, I don't deserve any of it. Everything is so wonderful!

But then I look at it another way & think, "okay so what happens when God decides to take it all away?" Oh man. & I'm not even gonna limit this to school. Everything I consider to be "good" in my life... if that were gone, would I truly be finding my joy in Christ?

BETTER BE!

This morning I was reading about a couple who lost 6 of their 9 children (9!! o_o) in a car accident... & they just submitted to God's will & continued to praise & proclaim that God is good. Incredible.

Man, I can't wait to see my Savior & just praise Him forever, hahahha. (Not to say that I'm praying for the Lord to take me anytime soon LOL just to clarify!) (Oh, although if it's His will then... well, there ya go.)

Okay, this post went from an eggplant to basically death-- or rather, life in Christ! Holla! Gonna close this post with a few bullet points 'cause I like 'em so much:
  • I made friends! :)
  • It's confirmed. I really like biology. Currently enjoying my Biology of Human Communication class.
  • I don't like it when we watch clips of horror films in my Film Music class. We all jumped in our seats, ahahahha. Music matters. That's for sure.
  • Please pray for Micah as he starts his studies at The Master's Seminary! :) He started today & seriously, it was such a joy to hear about his first day there. He's fast asleep now.. Our schedules are different! We're gonna be such busybees but at different times, haha. Finally got to spend time with him yesterday & something so simple such as school supply shopping (WHOA HELLO ALLITERATION HAHAHAH) was a total blessing! Wonder what it's gonna be like after a longer period of time when we're busier.. HMmmm praying for the Lord's sustenance & grace. :)
  • Study Bibles are so nifty.
  • "I trust in Your love everlasting, I cling to Your unfailing grace. In seasons of sorrow & blessing, I give You my pain & my praise. Your undying mercy awaits..." --"Mercy Awaits" by Enfield. Song's growing on me.
  • Ate Liz, I know you're reading this & let me say that.. your family is so awesome! I'm pretty sure I went through all of your latest pictures & "aww"-ed my way through everything.
  • Happy birthday Leigh Ann! :) I know you're reading this too! HAHah it's midnight now so this counts. You're such a sweet sista in Christ! <3
My posts are so casual these days.
It's midnight. I'm gonna sleep.

8.20.2011

Oh dear.

Haven't been able to sleep lately.

Am I excited or worried or just full of energy or just antsy or WHAT?! (I don't even think those options contrast each other, HAhah so maybe it's all of the above...) Things are about to be very different in a few days.

AHHH I'm so glad that the Lord is unchanging & eternal & HOLY.

Sigh.

Okay, itchin' to read. Ciao!

P.S. There will forever be a difference between Blogspot & Tumblr. Happy to have both.

7.28.2011

Scattergories.

Sheeeeesh, I've been MIA from the blogosphere. Quick post because I'm awake.. but I just sneezed & sneezing is tiring, so I'm getting pretty tired. Bullet points, yes? Yes.
  • I'm pretty awake because I just did a lot of reading & review & ended up taking notes. There's just something about the things of the Lord that makes you wanna stay up & keep going. So ridiculous though 'cause I'm up late & harming my body so.. ugh, I really should learn how to be productive during the daytime.
  • I'm all registered for CSUF classes! Very excited to start the semester at a new school & also excited to scope out new study spots! (I like studying at hip places, okay?) I suppose it's partly the adventurous little girl in me who is absolutely ecstatic about being thrown into unfamiliar territory. I enjoy getting lost... sometimes. Is that weird? As much as I love to catch up with people, I really do like introductions & just that whole "getting to know each other" process. My favorite color is kiwi green, even though I like mustard yellow items.
  • Man, okay.. I'm not a big planner, so talking about the future is totally absurd to me sometimes. Nonetheless, it's all exciting & nerve-wrecking at the same time. So much anticipation! I just wanna know what's coming up, yaknow? Oh, to trust in the certain plan of our God despite our many uncertainties. Hello, faith.
  • House renovations have been going pretty smoothly, at least up until these last two weeks. I'm learning to be patient with a lot of things & a lot of people. The Lord's really blessed us though, I'm sure of that. We have so many luxuries & here we are, giving our house a mini-renovation.
  • Pride is the worstttttttt.
  • Summer is going by so quickly! I have a little over 3 weeks left. Eep.
  • Did you really think I'd go through a whole blog post without mentioning Micah? I think most recently I've been able to really see what God is doing through us in different ministries. Although it would be nice to be serving in the same ministries, I do think that by God's grace, we're able to minister to many more by serving in different ones. So that's cool, but what happens when they clash? AH, then it's like... "It would be so much easier if we served in the same ministries" HAHA... but seriously. I know I shouldn't think that way because the Lord has been so gracious to give us hearts to serve, as well as souls that are hungry for the Word. Perhaps I just don't like having to choose..? (Oh man, is that even the right word to use?!) 'Cause I know we're not married, so it's not like I'm gonna point the finger at him. Since there's a need there, I'm willing to fill it... but then I don't wanna make it seem like I'm neglecting the other ministries.. Not saying that there are no needs there, but if I can be more effective somewhere else, I'd go, right? Or am I just saying that to justify my actions? Oh boy, this is a long bullet point. K, stop. I need to make some phone calls.
  • I'm really open about my life......... It's like I never have any secrets, haha.
  • Micah, how are you so patient with me? Foreal though. Thank the Lord for you. (& stop spending money on me! Where is this money coming from?! I know you're reading this.)
  • Gah, that really long bullet point woke me up.
  • Small groups once a month is naaaaht enough! I think I'll text my girls in the morning. So glad that I'm being discipled again though. :) Praying for this opportunity for my other sisters in Christ. Side note: 1 Corinthians is so good. & I've only gone through the first two chapters. IT'S ALL ABOUT CHRIST.
  • ...Dude, who reads this?
Lulz, mother woke up & told me to sleep.
Good night.

6.15.2011

O God...

...fill my soul with so entire a love of Thee that I may love nothing but for Thy sake and in subordination to Thy love. Give me grace to study Thy knowledge daily that the more I know Thee, the more I may love Thee. Create in me a zealous obedience to all Thy commands, a cheerful patience under all Thy chastisements, and a thankful resignation to all Thy disposals. Let it be the one business of my life to glorify Thee by every word of my tongue, by every work of my hand, by professing Thy truth, and by engaging all men, so far as in me lies, to glorify and love Thee.
Mr. John Wesley, you're Arminian & I'm not, but I do like this.

5.04.2011

"May the fourth be with you."

I kind of, sort of, always look forward to this day.
Happy Star Wars day.

On another note, it's MAY. It's been a pretty chill week academically, but man, that's probably because there have been other issues to deal with as of late. (For example, I just found a tiny bone in my chicken salad sandwich. Hello, disaster waiting to happen. I'm glad I chew my food.) I'm still trying to knock down my unfortunately-very-tall wall of independence, which only means that it'll fall harder when it comes crumbling down & the other side will be quite the surprise!

My analogies are terrible.

& that, my dears, is how you fluff up your high school essays.

Just kidding, don't listen to me.
You know what's been popping up lately? The topic of God & His timing. Seriously, everywhere. God & His perfect timing... which is connected to His sovereignty. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). It's nice to see things with a different perspective-- even better when it's the right one.

4.23.2011

Ever, only, all for Thee.

Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet, and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold:
Take my intellect, and use
Ev’ry pow’r as Thou shalt choose,
Ev’ry pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store:
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

4.05.2011

Good evening.

Less than two weeks until spring break.
Midterms galore, but still a happy camper.
Ain't that somethin'?

Blessed assurance.

3.29.2011

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.

"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows."
--Luke 12:6-7 (ESV).

3.24.2011

Check yo' self,

before you wreck yo' self, Loris.

Don't manipulate, don't grow impatient.
You know, firsthand, what happens when you rely on yourself.
Surrender.

3.17.2011

I'm.. kind of overwhelmed.

(The good kind.)

Man, I wanna cry--but I can't, since I'm apparently heartless-- 'cause the last 24 hours have been both hectic & ..refreshing? Not sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but it'll work. God is... enough. Man, why can't I get that through my thick skull?! Same exact resounding message & I'm still exactly the same? It's about time that lightbulb sparked. I've even received the same reminder from people who don't have a clue about what's been filling up my schedule, or even my head. People younger than me, older than me, miles & hours away from me... dude, I'm so blessed.

I am running on 2 hours of sleep (that's shorter than my naps), but somehow I feel pretty rested & ready to handle this work-- a huge contrast from my last post! God has been so gracious.

"Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you." --Psalm 63:3 (ESV).

& with that,
praise the Lord.

I wonder.

Am I still awake because of the coffee or is it because I'm hesitant to face the workload that's anxious to greet me in the morning (or rather, in a few hours)? I'm pretty sure the afternoon nap has nothing to do with this. Hellooooooo again, 4am.

On. The. Dot.

P.S. I don't know why I keep sipping on this coffee. It's not even good.

P.P.S. I'm slightly bitter about the fireflies. Kind of wish they weren't around so I could FOCUS. (But they're nice.. I guess. Like Ray-- Ray's a pretty cool firefly & so is Evangeline. Mm, yeah.)

3.12.2011

What a week.

I love & hate the shining moments of my priority list. Love, because it lets me see what I need to improve.. but hate, because it leaves me pretty ashamed & down in the dumps. I know I'm not perfect & the road to holiness is totally not a walk in the park so there's more love than hate, although it would still require both of them to really get someone moving. Not only do I need to work on discipline, but definitely compassion. I've found myself apologizing more than usual these days. Lord, have mercy.

I've also been all over the mood scale lately. Happy, worried, excited, scared, really happy, really devastated, nervous, relieved, bitter, uncertain-- but I suppose it's good that I wasn't.. angry? Is that what's missing? Meh, the good news: I'm not completely heartless. Huzzah.

Clearly, it's been somewhat sporadic (it shows in my writing, huh); a lot has happened but those moments feel far from my reach. I've just been reading the Word whenever I get the chance & honestly, those moments are what I remember best. "If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction" (Ps. 119:93). I'm super grateful for the Scriptures. Now... action. Word in, Word out.

Anyhoos, I am very, very, very blessed to have my brothers & sisters in Christ, plusss God-fearing parents with whom I am happy to run this race. They are absolutely incredible.

Tell me why it's taken me an hour to vaguely type up what's been on my mind. Pro stats.
Hello 3:34am.

3.02.2011

Biblical fashion statements.

"Do not let your adorning be external-- the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear-- but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious."
--1 Peter 3:3-4.

"...women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness-- with good works." --1 Timothy 2:9-10.

"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." --Proverbs 31:30.

Get on this, ladies. These traits will always be in style.

2.28.2011

Steppin' back & slowin' down.

I am all too familiar with this time of day-- an undoubtedly unhealthy sign. Sadly, a blank page is more intimidating than inviting, as it once was in my eyes. Last night was spent reading through past entries, wondering where in the world my vocabulary fled to & why writer's block decided to make a permanent stop at my residence. The subject matters were rubbish, though. Sure, I could make any paragraph as flowery as can be, but digging deep down to the core, it was me being a typical teenager mesmerized by the world, wanting nothing yet everything to do with it. Confusing... talaga! (Kind of like how I sound right now. MHMM.)

On the brighter side-- & I suppose much brighter-- at least I can tell that my priorities have changed. My writing took a beating once Facebook & Twitter decided to unite with text messaging & restrict me to a limited number of characters. Okay, actually that's my fault for not disciplining myself... Anyhoos, back to my point: Since then, I've gained a better grasp of Scripture & ultimately, of our Lord. That's a plus in my book. Praise God for that understanding.

I think I'll also note that by "then," I don't mean since Facebook/Twitter/texting ganged up on me. There was less of that time & more time for fellowship, discipleship, personal spiritual disciplines, etc. It is ridiculously refreshing to read the Word or hang with brothers & sisters. Surely enough, I realized that we get more hyped about this than we do about... oh, I don't know... school. After a talk with the sisters, I basically laid it down & told myself: "Hey. You've been blessed with the opportunity to go to school, so use that to glorify God. & if the stress begins to corner you, remember that how you handle that stress is also your witness of God's goodness to others. Find peace in the Savior. Get your brothers & sisters to keep you on track." This has pretty much been my pep talk as of late.

Speaking of "late," it's nearly 2:30am & unfortunately not a surprise. Ha, check out the lack of uniformity in my writing style though! Eh bien, ce n'est pas grave. Happy Monday, folks.

OH, real quick:
"For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
" --Psalm 84:10 (ESV).

2.14.2011

Trying to keep up with my thoughts.

Let's pretend it's not Valentine's Day so my post doesn't seem entirely out of place.

"Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death
is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, 'I am only joking!'
"
--Proverbs 26:18-19 (ESV).

My goodness, Lord, You have such a way with words. The Word really is sharper than any two-edged sword and it really does pierce "to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow," and discerns "the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Heb. 4:12). Living & active, people.

Sin sin sin... you are so frustrating!
Just get out of here already!
:(

Well, okay it kinda does have something to do with Valentine's Day, I suppose. Oh, love. Not like... lovey-dovey love, but you know... love! All day, everyday love. 1 John 3:16-18 love. More of THAT love means more Jesus, so that means less sin because God is completely holy & won't tolerate it... But wow why do I suck at this?

Yikes, this post is all over the place.
Now I shall rhyme & say
I'm thankful for grace.

2.12.2011

"Who needs a valentine when you have Christ? (:"

What a sweet morning reminder from the sweetest small group!
(Okay, I'll admit that I'm biased.)

Sheesh, I think 4 different people have asked me about whether or not I have a valentine this year. Kind of ridiculous. You all need to calm down! Ahaha. (Although, I have noticed that the older I become, the more frequent the topic arises... Jokingly or not.) Anyhoos, so without even mentioning that, the valentine's topic came up during our talk & man, I am incredibly thankful for these girls. They totally know w'sup. :) "Leader" or not, we're all sisters & we all gotta edify one another to pursue holiness & glorify the Father, not ourselves! Love it.

Sorry fellas, our hearts are with Jesus. (;
Gotta seek Him to get to 'em.

1.29.2011

Butterflies & pesky moths.

What a weird week. Two weeks? Meh.
Not sure how I feel about it.

Still praying.

1.27.2011

In the Cross Alone I Glory.

Never will I seek the glory
That was never meant for me.
Always heavenward reflecting..
All to Jesus to receive,
All to Jesus to receive!

In the cross alone I glory;
Nothing of my own to give.
Only that which Christ has offered
For my soul that I may live,
For my soul that I may live...

I'm gonna quote a sister on this one, but forreal, "they don't call it 'the Good News' for no reason."

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Note to self.

Starfield - I Will Go.

Let me not be blind with privilege
Give me eyes to see the pain
Let the blessing You've poured out on me
Not be spent on me in vain

Let this life be used for change

I will go, I will go,
I will go Lord, send me
To the world, to the lost
To the poor and hungry
Take everything I am,
I'm clay within Your hands

Oh, that this may be the prayer of my heart on the daily.

New year, new goals. May I persevere even more, submit even more, suffer even more for the sake of Christ... because, regardless of my own changes, my God is unchanging & His standards stay the same. Can't wait for what's in store this year. I just pray that I remember that God is sovereign & perhaps more importantly, that He is God.
