Real talk.

I talk about music all the time. I make it sound like a bad thing haha, but it's not! It's just influenced me so much more now in college than ..ever. Yep!

Shoutout to my dear friend "Peter", who takes time to read some (maybe all?) of my blogs & comment. It was good talking to you yesterday, even if it was just for a little bit. Please let me know asap when you're coming home.

Anyyyyyyyhoos.
Lately I've been reading Artist/Band bios around MySpace & such. (Yes, I still use MySpace. SO WHAT?!) You could tell a lot about their character(s) in their stories. For most of them, music has become such a big part of them that they breathe it. It's amazing seeing how music affects so many lives. It's one of those universal languages that can make things easier to convey, but rather complicated at the same time. It can be interpreted in so many ways, but there was ultimately one message.

..before I lose my train of thought, I will jump straight to my main point.

Music isn't about talent. It's not about popularity. It's about.. music. Feeling. Inspiration. It's something so real that it has the power to captivate you. Speak to you. It's about so many languages coming together to create a soothing harmony. It is understanding. It is persuasive. It is expressive.

Last night's/This morning's conversation was very encouraging.

: like we were saying
: that music is not only Universal language
: but it can really save lives
: OMG i wrote that in my blog.
(^LOL!? I'm so lame.)

: but like really
: music is more than just makin sound
: it has a connection with emotions
: perspective
: and most of all movement

Speaking to someone who holds the same feelings about a subject is so relieving. All I could do was agree with everything he said. It IS a movement. It IS a universal language. I love listening to a piece of music & breaking down the different aspects that complete it. The strings, the percussion, the winds, the bass, the lyrics, the voice. Each part is complex and beautiful, both individually & cooperatively. Yes, even, for example, "screamo" music. There's a lot of heart in some of those songs. Real emotions. Real stories. It's sad to see artists arise only to play music in vain. That is exactly why they fall. Another thing. One characteristic that I adore about the certain musicians that I've come to respect & love-- they give the credit to their Maker. Creator. Savior.

& again, another reason why I am so blessed to be living the life I live.

P.S. I have been so sketchy about posting this entry. But I will. I feel like there's so much more to say but you're going to have to experience music for yourself to really understand this. Hmm.....yeah that's it. (:
