Take it easy.

My 2nd "AFK" post. (By the way, I'm at post #21 for my Blogger! How exciting.)

"Another break from studying, another wonderful day to write.

Today is so lovely, isn't it? Just the right mixture of SoCal sun & breezes. The lawns look especially green & people seem especially happy today. I wonder if it's because the elections are over. I hate to bring it up once again, but I do find it quite sad how politics has this power to divide our nation so much, even to our families. We are all so different; not specifically my family, but just everyone. Now that cases are settled (for now), it seems that this rush of relief has swept the nation. What a wonderful day to just put our differences aside & enjoy history in the making together.

After rereading that paragraph, I realize that I sound so relieved! I don't like politics at all, and now that certain issues are finalized & such, I finally feel at ease-- I don't need to debate with anyone anymore. Debating is difficult; you need to think before you speak, being cautious about what you're trying to convey to another person. I'm still working on 1 Peter 3:15, "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.." [NIV] Mega work in progress.

Aside from that.

I love the sounds surrounding me right now. The chitter-chatter of multiple conversations, innocent laughter, the snappy jazz music playing-- everything is mixed in so harmoniously into a simple coffee shop. I love that. Someone should come with me another time. I'd love to share this experience with you. Let's have stimulating conversations & amaze this world.

God is good. God is good. God is good."

  1. i totally feel the part about debating. i got into so many disputes over Prop 8 and it was hard to "do this in gentleness and respect".
